Stillpoint privacy
Updated October 17, 2026. This page describes Stillpoint, a separate Android app from CutShort.
On your phone
Selected apps, rules, schedules, timers, Commit settings, app-usage totals, and notification preferences stay on your phone. Stillpoint uses Usage Access for daily limits and Android Device Owner management to suspend apps and apply Commit restrictions. No usage history or app selections are sent to the licensing service.
Licensing and purchases
Windows setup reads a hash derived from the phone app’s Android device identifier. Google sign-in in your system browser identifies the account that purchases or recovers activation. Firebase Authentication processes the Google account identifier, email, name and profile information supplied by Google. A purchase can be made before connecting a phone and is assigned to one phone during activation. The installer receives a signed, phone-bound entitlement and delivers it over USB. The phone verifies that entitlement offline without a login or a typed key. Purchase records link the account identifier, checkout, device hash, purchase email and payment reference. Setup records contain the phone model when connected, account association, a hashed polling token and an expiry. The desktop remembers a limited account session for up to 30 days using Windows encryption; switching accounts removes that local session and revokes it on the server when reachable. Google tokens and passwords are not delivered to the installer or phone. Card details are processed by the payment provider and are not stored by Stillpoint. Purchases are currently closed.
Hosting and support
Google Firebase provides hosting, server functions, secret storage and the license database. Hosting and API providers process connection information for delivery, security and logs. Rate-limit records use a keyed hash rather than storing your raw IP address in the license database. Support email contains the information you choose to send; don’t include passwords or unnecessary private information.
Removal and requests
Unlock Commit and use Windows setup to release management before uninstalling. Removal clears Stillpoint rules and restores apps it suspended. Purchase/license records are separate from local phone data; contact support@cutshortapp.com about those records.
