Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most.
Is every feature free?
Yes. CutShort has no purchases, subscriptions, trials, or paid plans.
Do I need an account?
No. CutShort works locally without sign-in. Rules and usage stay on your phone, and the app does not upload crash reports.
What permissions does CutShort need?
Usage Access supplies app-usage totals. Accessibility identifies the foreground app so CutShort can apply your rules. Notifications require notification permission.
How does Commit unlock?
Choose Timer, Charger, or Cooldown in the app. Your selected method determines when Commit can end. Existing rules cannot be weakened while Commit is active.
Where is my data stored?
Rules, app selections, and usage history stay on your device. The Android app does not upload rules, usage, or crash reports. See the privacy policy for details.
Which phones are supported?
Android 8.1 and newer. Android and manufacturer restrictions can affect blocking.
